April 2008 — Computershare releases latest version (GEMS v6.1) of entity management application
Computershare Governance Services (CGS) has announced the release of the latest upgrade to the Global Entity Management System application, GEMS version 6.1. It's the first version of the application to be released through CGS, a business unit that was formed by combining the acquisition of the Datacare Software Group with Computershare's World Records business. The new version includes an advanced reporting module which lets administrators use a "drag and drop" approach to produce and format reports from information in customized fields, as well as from the standard fields. March 2008 —  First User Conference as CGS Set for October
Computershare Governance Services (CGS) will hold its 2008 Annual User Conference October 21st thru October 24th at the Westin La Paloma Resort in Tucson, Arizona (www.westinlapalomaresort.com). The two-and-a-half day event is the first time former Datacare Software Group (DSG) and former World Records clients will come together as one for a conference under the CGS name. The event will begin with optional training sessions on Tuesday, October 21st and officially kick off with a Welcome Reception that evening.  With main and breakout sessions focused on future plans for the Corporate Manager (CM) and Global Entity Management System (GEMS) products, the conference offers former World Records clients, who are transitioning to the new solutions, an opportunity to meet firsthand with former Datacare clients.  Former DSG clients have been using the legacy solution -- Global Corporate Manager (GCM) -- which served as the model for GEMS.  Watch this site for further details about this exciting event.

October 2007 —  World Records Conference launches Computershare Governance Services
Details of the Computershare Governance Services group and the enhanced entity management offering were the highlights of this year’s annual Computershare World Records Conference in San Diego. The conference, which took place from October 17th to 19th, featured an explanation and demonstration of the new software which combines the best parts of the former Datacare’s Global Corporate Manager solution and the World Records application.  The event also included sessions that outlined plans for data migration and services for the new offering, a demonstration of the electronic board preparation and distribution portal known as BoardWorks, a panel discussion of getting corporate buy in for a robust entity management system and a presentation on the issues facing today’s corporate secretaries by Brendan Sheehan, executive editor of Corporate Secretary magazine.

July 2007 — Computershare acquires leading global supplier of entity management software
Computershare Limited announced it has acquired the Datacare Software Group, the world’s leading supplier of entity management and subsidiary governance solutions. The acquisition complements the Computershare World Records business, which is the largest entity management software provider in the US positioning Computershare as the global leader in the industry.

February 2007 — Computershare World Records releases Version 6.4 of application
The ability to create complex multi-ownership organizational charts, set up an optional HOME page as a shortcut to newly added/visited companies, documents, and people, plus enhancements to the Compliance Calendar with due date alerts that have sub-tasks which may affect multiple areas of your organization are some of the new capabilities in Version 6.4 of the World Records® application. This new release is now available.
