Computershare Governance Services (CGS) is all about helping you manage your subsidiary governance. Founded in 1996 as the World Records division, we began as a technology provider primarily for Corporate Secretaries to manage data on global entities by tracking, retrieving, and disseminating corporate records relating to directors, officers, shareholders, subsidiaries, and insiders. Now we’re more than that.
We've evolved to keep pace with the changing role of the office of the Corporate Secretary and General Counsel. Nearly 200 of the Fortune 1000 companies have selected our technology to capture the data to meet the pressures for global compliance and subsidiary governance.
World Records was acquired in 2004 by Computershare Ltd, a $5 billion global financial services provider. The 2007 Computershare acquisition of the Datacare Software Group aligned that organization perfectly with the former World Records group to create CGS, the global leader in entity management and subsidiary governance solutions.
Today, we have the advantage of being able to call on the financial and technical resources of our parent company. Computershare manages more than 100 million shareholder and employee accounts for over 14,000 corporations in 17 countries across 5 continents. Many of the world's largest companies employ Computershare's innovative solutions to maximize the value of their relationships with investors, employees, customers and members.
